Every Superhero Movie This Decade Ranked - Worst To Best

45. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)

A textbook example of how not to make a superhero sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 overstuffs itself with too many villains (none of them interesting), a wealth of excessive, padded scenes that bloat the runtime out to almost 2.5 hours, underwhelming action and mediocre visual effects.

The only truly memorable moment from the movie - in a positive way, at least - is Gwen Stacy's (Emma Stone) climactic death scene, which clearly deserved a far better film.

Jamie Foxx's Electro was meanwhile a baffling dud and the nods towards the wider universe were totally unconvincing, but at least the movie's indifferent reception eventually led to the effortlessly superior MCU Spider-Man.
