Every Tom Cruise Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

39. The Mummy (2017)

Tom Cruise Interview With The Vampire
Universal

In 2017, Cruise released two vastly different movies - one was surprisingly good, the other was The Mummy, a generic action flick with dire special effects and a shoddy script which was, somehow, meant to be the start of an entire franchise.

The Mummy was such a critical and commercial failure, thanks in equal part to Cruise and the studio meddling with the finished product and a shockingly uninterested cast, that the Dark Universe series was dead before it even got off the ground.

In another life, Cruise starring in an action-horror franchise would have been divinely inspired - or at the very least fun - but in this life, The Mummy was a resounding misfire.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
