Every Twist In The Saw Franchise - Ranked From Worst To Best
5. Dr. Gordon Is Jigsaw's "Final" Apprentice (Saw: The Final Chapter)
Saw: The Final Chapter may be a mostly terrible film, but it earns points for full-heartedly committing to the stupidity of a supposedly series-capping final twist, where Dr. Gordon (Cary Elwes) is revealed to have been Kramer's last apprentice standing.
Gordon, whose survival is needlessly ruined by a brief appearance earlier in the film, shows up to tie off Kramer's loose ends, locking Hoffman in the iconic bathroom after he murders Kramer's ex-wife Jill (Betsy Russell).
It's stupid as hell and had been predicted by fans years earlier, but the sheer goofy absurdity of the series finally indulging a theory fans latched onto five movies ago is hilarious.
It's a bad movie and the psychology of Gordon teaming with Kramer makes no sense at all, but this is still a satisfyingly ridiculous final twist that brings the series full barmy circle.
