This writer tussled with how to rank the top two movies on this list, but ultimately decided against being a prisoner of the moment. Yes, there is a Deadpool 3 high right now, and rightly so, but does it really outweigh the excitement of Secret Wars coming to the big screen?

If there is one story that has the potential to outshine both Infinity War and Endgame in terms of size and scope, it is Secret Wars. It’s the multiversal war that has been teased in both Loki and the Multiverse of Madness, and should close the curtain on the Multiverse Saga and Phase Six with one hell of an exclamation point.

Though we as an MCU fan base have been burned by unrealistic expectations, as recently as the underwhelming Doctor Strange sequel, there is every reason to believe that Secret Wars could be the biggest and best the MCU has ever had to offer.

The multiverse, countless potential characters and any variants they may have, mutants, Avengers, Guardians, Eternals, vampires, hulks, gods, and at the centre of everything a villain with the potential power to devastate the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Secret Wars is what MCU dreams are made of, and anything less than utterly groundbreaking and mind-blowing will likely be seen as a failure.
