Every Will Smith Movie Ranked Worst To Best

10. I, Robot (2004)

King Richard
20th Century Fox

As far as 00s sci-fi thrillers go, I, Robot is surely one of the most straightforward and criminally underappreciated, starring Smith as a traumatised cop forced onto the frontline of a brewing human/robot war ignited by a deadly conspiracy.

Though leagues behind Isaac Asimov's flawless source material, the action-thriller is handily aided by its killer special effects and Alan Tudyk's haunting portrayal of robot Sonny, but once again it's Smith who rises above his co-stars.

Playing a rogue-cop-with-a-tragic-past archetype can go one of two ways for any actor, but Smith makes it looks easy, injecting impressive physicality and likeable vulnerability into the role and improving the movie tenfold in the process. I, Robot deserves a reappraisal.
