Every Wolverine Movie Performance Ranked Worst To Best
4. X-Men: First Class
Three words is all takes to elevate Wolverine's appearance in X-Men: First Class to a decently high place on this list. First Class was the first attempt to soft reboot the X-Men series by heading back in time to tell the story of a young Charles Xavier and Eric Lehnsherr.
And it worked magnificently. For my money, there's a strong case to be made that X-Men: First Class is the greatest entry in the entire series. Everything about the film is likeable, and Matthew Vaughn's direction is terrific. Before the film released, fans wondered whether or not - given his age - Wolverine mightn't make an appearance, and what the first interaction between he, Professor X and Magneto might be.
"Go f*ck yourself". The line, spoken at a bar by Wolverine while the two attempt to recruit mutants, sums up the character perfectly, and is a reaction so totally believable that it's impossible not to grin when it happens.
