Everything Avengers: Infinity War Fixes About The MCU
6. Two Asgardian Lose Ends
It might be a little unfortunate that this is the second film in a row starring Asgardians that starts with some of their most famous characters killed off in the first few minutes, but Infinity War was absolutely right to kill off Loki and Heimdall.
Idris Elba's character came to the end of his arc when he led the rebellion against Hela and helped save some of the Asgardians - there's very little else for him to do and killing him off when he's so powerful served the plot more than him simply disappearing with Valkyrie, Korg and Miek.
And the same goes for Loki, who has been kept around because of the popularity of the character - to the extent that he's essentially just relived the same story arc a few times. Thanos symbolically killing off the previous greatest villain in the MCU really serves the MCU as well, as it reinforces his status like few other actions could. Plus it pushes Thor's arc on in a quite brilliant way too, which elevates him to being arguably the most important heroic character.
