2. Ending Red Skull's Story

Pretty much since Hugo Weaving's Red Skull disappeared at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger, his reappearance in the MCU has been hotly rumoured, but questions over Weaving's enthusiasm for the role seem to have killed the possibility.

That would have gone down as one of the most disappointing loose ends in any film franchise if it had stayed that way, but it looked like a necessary evil. But that's now not the case - not only did we get to see the Red Skull again, we got to see him involved in a clever story that explained where he's been all this time and built the mythology of the Soul Stone in a substantial way.

And the CGI work that went into him was particularly good.
