Let's be honest: the Evil Dead movies have never been that scary. The original film has kind of an eerie atmosphere and a few creepy ideas, but it's hardly something that will keep you up at night. Well, except for this one part, a moment that is by far the most memorable instance of genuine terror in the series.

In this scene about halfway through the movie, Linda seems to have awakened from the spell she was put under just as Ash was about to shoot her with a shotgun. As we'll find out, though, the spirit loves to mess with its victims by pretending to snap back to normal for brief periods of time.

It doesn't take long before Linda is possessed once again, and she instantly starts laughing and rubbing it in Ash's face. While staring him right in the eye she starts singing a macabre lullaby, "We're gonna get you, we're gonna get you, not another peep, time to go to sleep..."

Not only is the idea of a twisted children's song inherently messed up, but it's also super unsettling the way she's using "we" here, as if the real Linda is completely gone and she's been absorbed into a massive evil force that can't be stopped.

If there's anything from The Evil Dead that may give you nightmares, this is it.
