Evil Dead Remake: 15 Talking Points In The New Red Band Trailer

10. The Necronomicon

The next order of business in the trailer is the full reveal of the fabled Necronomicon; the book of the dead, bound by human flesh and written in human blood. Pretty grim bed time reading, I€™d say. Throughout the first section of the trailer we€™ve been seeing notes taken from it, hearing fractured quotes from it. Then finally, with a scream, it€™s revealed to us, as above. Of course the Necronomicon plays a part; it€™s thelynchpin of the entire franchise. You couldn€™t tell an Evil Dead story without it. So it comes as no surprise to see it featuring, if somewhat briefly, in the trailer. And again, it really hasn€™t changed much in the original. I can imagine in anyone else€™s hands, this book would have been changed to look more badass, given spikes and maybe a c**k or something. But Raimi has the right of it; the book itself is much scarier when it looks like it was lovingly crafter by Leatherface and family.
