Evil Dead Rise Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

2. The Ending Feels A Little Rushed

No spoilers here of course, but while the Evil Dead films have always been refreshingly brisk, seat-of-their-pants movies, Evil Dead Rise's finale does end up feeling a little rushed.

The intriguing climax effectively ends just when it feels like it's ramping up to something bigger, and the presentation of the antagonist's final form is sure to be a little divisive.

The finale needed a little more runway to let the audience savour the sadism and uncanny horror of it all, when instead it seems a little too eager to sprint to the finish line and roll the credits.

While it's great that every Evil Dead movie clocks in at less than 100 minutes, this one could've held on a few later moments just a teensy bit longer.
