Fantastic Beasts: 10 Actors Who Could Replace Fired Johnny Depp

Benedict Cumberbatch is going to have a busy few months with Spider-Man 3 and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but considering the fact he shot his Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame scenes mostly by himself, there's really no reason he couldn't squeeze in Fantastic Beasts 3!

For many fans, he's now best known for playing the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Sorcerer Supreme, but don't forget, he's also pretty damn great at being a baddie (see Star Trek Into Darkness and The Hobbit movies for proof of that). Everyone loves the former Sherlock too, and his involvement in the Harry Potter spinoff franchise would give Warner Bros. some much-needed positive publicity.

As noted, having an actor basically impersonate Johnny Depp would be a mistake; however, there needs to be some similarities, and Cumberbatch is talented enough to find the right mix of new and old. Paying homage to what's come before, the British actor could put a fresh spin on Grindelwald too.

That feels like the best possible approach, and it's one which Cumberbatch would be a good fit for.
