7. It's Going To Feature A Cameo From One Of The Original Potter Trio

One of the earliest rumours about Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them that surfaced was the idea that it was going to feature a prominent cameo from one of the original Harry Potter trio (that being Harry, Ron and Hermione).

The rumour stated that the film would have a similar framing device to The Hobbit trilogy, with Harry, Ron or Hermione reading the Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them book to one of their children. The scene was to be set just before the Death Hallow's epilogue, and would have ended with the journey to Platform 9 3/4.

Thankfully, nothing of the sort happened, with Fantastic Beasts beginning in its own time frame. The technique wasn't particularly effective in The Hobbit, and only served to underline how far the trilogy was from the glory days of The Lord Of The Rings.

It's nice to see Beasts didn't make a similarly misjudged mistake.
