Fantastic Beasts: 10 Rumours That Proved To Be Bullsh*t
4. It's Going To Feature Baby Voldemort
Okay, so this rumour has credence (pun entirely intended). When it was revealed that Fantastic Beasts was to be set in the year 1926, alarm bells began ringing in the minds of astute fans, giving rise to the rumour that we'd be seeing baby Voldemort, aka a very young Tom Riddle.
Why? Because 1926 is the exact year that Tom Riddle was born. It seemed clear, then, that we'd be meeting Riddles' parents, Tom Riddle senior and Merope Gaunt. Even if it was just a cameo, there was no way J.K. Rowling would set the film the exact year Riddle was born by coincidence...right?
Yet...she did. Fantastic Beasts featured absolutely no sign of Riddle or Gaunt, nor did it show fans any vaguely inconspicuous and sinister-looking babies. Which is a bit disappointing, really, given how Baby Voldemort probably would have been considerably more threatening than Voldemort post-Deathly Hallows (fans will never forget that awkward Draco Malfoy hug).
