3. It's Going To Star Jamie Campbell Bower As Grindelwald
Though you'd be forgiven for forgetting, the dastardly wizard Grindelwald has actually already appeared in the Harry Potter series. A young Grindelwald shows up in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part One, played by actor Jamie Campbell Bower, who is famous for his roles in films like Sweeney Todd and The Twilight Saga.
It seemed a no-brainer, then, that Bower would return as Grindelwald, reprising his role from before. In fact, when it was revealed Grindelwald was going to be a main character in the films, it was rumoured that Bower had signed a contract for three films.
In the end, however, it wasn't to be. Shortly before the film released, Warner Brothers confirmed that Johnny Depp had been cast as Grindelwald. Which is a shame, really, because it's hard to see beyond Depp's goofy blonde hair and cloudy contact lens.
