Fantastic Beasts: 21 WTF Moments

Niffler is easily one of the most charming parts of the film thanks to an irresistible blend of charisma and rascal-like, nonchalant behaviour. it also helps that he's one of the cutest creatures in the entire thing too. it's established firmly early on that the creature is a kleptomaniac, irresistibly drawn to shiny objects with such compulsion that it becomes a walking ball of chaos.

But then towards the end of the film, when Newt reveals that the Occamy babies in his care are hatched from solid silver eggs, in a nest about 4 feet away from the Niffler's own nest. And yet the thieving little might didn't bother to take the abandoned shells? Is he somehow cured? Does his compulsion have a blind spot?

And not only that, but Niffler's little den is absolutely chock-full with things he actually did manage to steal. So presumably lots of people are massively out of pocket somewhere.
