1. Hagrid's Parents
After the dust settled on the bloody Battle of Hogwarts, one thought that every Potter fan had was thank God Hagrid didnt die. The Hogwarts grounds keeper was Harrys first contact with the Wizarding world and he was a rock for the boy wizard throughout the series. Hagrid himself was actually born two years after Newts New York adventure begins, so he can't appear, but his parents were both alive and well at the time. Little is known of Mr Hagrid, other than that by the age of 6 his son Rubeus could pick him up and put him on top of the dresser. He was a short wizard, which made his taste in women all the more bizarre. Mr Hagrid married a giantess named Fridwulfa and they had a child together in 1928, though Fridwulfa abandoned Rubeus due to his small size (by giant standards). Mr Hagrid is probably the less likely of the two when it comes to a appear in Fantastic Beasts, but Hagrids mother sounds as though she could be a perfect cameo. Newt is going to come across all manner of strange magical creatures on his trip, and a Giant colony would be the perfect place to start his book, especially if one of the Giants is in a relationship with a Wizard. Of course, Fridwulfa is unlikely to have travelled to the USA, so Newt would have to bump into her before his journey across the ocean begins, though that doesnt mean he wont come across any Giants overseas. As Ron Weasley confirmed when discussing the subject with Harry at the Yule Ball years later, Giants are far from a British phenomenon:
There arent any left in Britain now. Well, they were dying out anyway, and then loads got themselves killed by Aurors. Therere supposed to be Giants abroad, though.
