Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald - 17 WTF Moments

4. The Ridiculous Final Battle

The final battle in this movie sure is something, right? After an unbearably dull rallying speech from Grindelwald to his followers, he takes a bong hit and vapes a vision of World War II, and creates a Fiendfyre spell to attack Newt and co.

It basically plays out like a particularly unimaginative video game boss fight, with Aurors getting melted by the blue flames before Credence and Queenie both cross over to Grindelwald's side.

And then Grindelwald just buggers off, and we're left with fire dragons duking it out for no other reason than someone in the VFX department thought it looked a bit cool. It's entertaining in a trashy way, sure, but given the better-crafted climaxes of prior Wizarding World films, this really doesn't measure up.
