Fantastic Four: 10 Moments From The Comics It Will Feature

6. Mole Man's Origin

Even if fans don't get to see the Mole Man himself in Fantastic Four, don't be surprised if the reboot serves as an origin story which sets the stage for him to return in the sequel. Just like in the Ultimate comics, the creepy character will work in the Baxter Institute, though he's actually fired by the time Reed Richards and company conduct their experiment. It's his ugly appearance which earns him the name "Mole Man" from the youngsters in that continuity. Whether Tim Blake Nelson will be made up to look like that isn't known, but it's possible that he will play a villainous role in Fantastic Four if they find a way to squeeze a subplot about Mole Man retreating underground, kidnapping Sue Storm and eventually leading an army of monsters. Yeah, it really doesn't seem likely. For a sequel though, it's certainly a possibility, so don't be surprised to see some hints about at least some of this in the reboot.
