Fantastic Four: 17 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References You Need To See

7. The Reference To Civil War

Fantastic Four may exist in its own movie universe, but that doesn't it mean it can't make references to other franchises through their comic connection. In fact, there's a bigger reference to Civil War here than anything in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. When the scientists are confronted by the military about using the Negative Zone for nefarious purposes, Doom angrily mocks that they'll be sending political prisoners across to the alternate dimension. Funnily enough, that's exactly what Reed Richards, along with Tony Stark, do to those who openly oppose the Superhero Registration Act in the Civil War comic. Don't expect that element to be translated over to next year's Captain America: Civil War though.
