Fantastic Four Reboot: 5 Ways To Make Sure It Doesn't Suck

2. Make The Thing CGI

bengrimm Of all the poor choices made in previous live action Fantastic Four outings, one of the worst was choosing to make Ben Grimm AKA the Thing out of prosthetics. What we ended up with was a cheap looking Thing who belonged in a B-movie rather than a Hollywood blockbuster. Thing needs to be a hulking giant, not just merely the size of a body-builder who happens to be made out of rock. Take Hulk from the Marvel cinematic universe as an example of how to do it correctly. The size difference between Hulk and Thor, for instance, was far more extreme than the difference between Michael Chiklis' Ben Grimm and Chris Evans' Johnny Storm. Hulk also gives us a prime example of how CGI works so well with this kind of character. A new Ben Grimm actor could play the part of the rocky hero with sensors attached to his body and the computer generated rocky exterior added later. It would both look better and enable the actor to make the character his own.
