5. Miles Teller As Reed Richards

Teller is known for his sarcastic comedic persona in several films including That Awkward Moment (in which he stars with Michael B. Jordan), which some fans have pointed out makes him ill-suited to the part of the serious and ironically inflexible Reed Richards. He is also the youngest of the cast, taking on the role of the father figure in a story which has always been about family. Reed is a difficult character for modern superhero films, as his power isn't particularly awe-inspiring but is hard to render well onscreen and he's too often perceived as dull despite his guilt complex after causing the accident which gives his friends their abilities. Teller will be testing his range in the film regardless because Reed is definitely not a comedic character, but an interpretation which doesn't focus on 'stick in the mud' would be welcome. The Ultimate comics already paved the way here, and €“ spoilers! €“ perhaps Teller's upcoming part as an antagonist in Divergent will be good experience.
