Fast & Furious 8: 12 Things We Want To See

10. Justin Lin Returns To Direct

A major bone of contention for many fans prior to Furious 7's release was that long-time helmer Justin Lin, who directed the previous four movies, would not be returning for Furious 7. Apparently he balked at the original plan to release Furious 7 just a year after Fast And Furious 6, though somewhat ironically, due to Paul Walker's death, the release date ended up getting pushed back a year anyway. Lin will be busy for the next year working on Star Trek 3, though it'd certainly be nice to see him return for Furious 8. James Wan did a fine job filling in for the director on the new movie, but his direction didn't seem quite as assured and visually coherent as Lin's, so in an ideal world, the series would get its most prolific filmmaker back in the driving seat. Time will tell, but with Furious 7 sure to end up as the franchise's highest-grossing entry to date, Universal may just stick with Wan moving forward.
