Fast & Furious 9: 20 WTF Moments

As wonderfully weird as it is that Helen Mirren joined the franchise as the Shaw brothers' mother Magdalene in The Fate of the Furious - and reprised her role briefly in Hobbs & Shaw - many were left frustrated that neither film actually put her behind the wheel.

In a 2017 interview, Mirren herself even famously said, "I'd love to come back. But, guys, I want to drive next time," and so it was tremendously gratifying to see her wish finally granted in F9.

Mirren's role here is really just a quick cameo - where he tells Dom Jakob's location - but she sensibly spends most of it driving Dom around London and nimbly evading the cops after she lifts a piece of expensive jewelry from a fancy store.

Getting to see the 75-year-old Dame effortlessly outmanoeuvre the police in a sexy car makes for one of the film's most entertaining moments.
