Fast & Furious Franchise: 20 Greatest Action Sequences Ranked

17. Fast & Furious 9 - They Go To Space

Well, they finally did it. The Fast and Furious gang went to space.

After the ludicrousness of The Fate of the Furious, it was commonly joked that the only way this series could top that silliness was having a sequence set in space and sure enough, F9 listened to the memes and acted accordingly.

F9 is a terrible movie that messed up most of the action sequences, but it did get this part absolutely right.

The franchise's first trip into space was a hilarious, visually stunning and reasonably tense spectacle that managed to be OTT without completely jumping the shark (unlike most of the rest of this movie). As well as this, it's Ted (Ludacris) and Roman (Tyrese Gibson) in the car-rocket and they are always an absolute joy.

The pair getting rescued by some bewildered astronauts at the end was also a lovely touch. In the end this was, by a country mile, the best part of a bitterly disappointing film that really wasn't worth the four-year wait.
