Fast & Furious Franchise: 20 Greatest Action Sequences Ranked

12. Fast Five - Train Heist

This first main set-piece in Fast Five - in which Dom and co steal some cars from a moving train with the help of a modified truck that acts as a ramp - was very much a sign of things to come.

It's a creative and unique heist scene that's full of tense close calls and shocking stunts, and it's also very well-paced. The set-piece builds up and up, becoming more and more thrilling as it goes along, and by the end you'll really be biting your nails.

It concludes with one of the ludicrous stunts that have become the franchise's trademark: Dom and Brian's car flies off a cliff into water far, far below... and of course, both men survive without a scratch, even though the fall should've killed them both.

Overall, this marvellous heist sequence, with its excellent pacing, mad stunts, creative scenario and endearingly ridiculous ending, serves as a lovely foreshadowing of the great action sequences both later in this film and throughout the next few movies.
