Fast & Furious Franchise: 20 Greatest Action Sequences Ranked

11. The Fate Of The Furious - Prison Riot

This is one of those scenes which is just pure cinematic joy.

The prison riot scene sees Deckard and Luke fighting their way through the rioting prisoners in jail and as it should probably go without saying, this is a truly glorious spectacle.

The incredible action chops of both Statham and Johnson are on full display here and their characters' differing combat styles - Hobbs is all about brute force while Shaw is more graceful and twisty - lend the scene a lovely feeling of balance and variety.

Factor in superb cinematography, excellent editing and a terrific choice of music (a remix of 'Speakerbox' by Bassnectar) and you're left with a beautiful slice of cinematic badassery you won't forget in a hurry.

It's a short scene but it doesn't waste a second and frankly, the prison riot is so damn good that the rest of the movie struggles to live up to it.
