Fifty Shades Darker Trailer Breakdown - 18 Things You Need To See

4. The Masquerade Ball Gets Weird

Further highlighting the film's distinctly Kubrickian, Eyes Wide Shut-aping tone as well as its straight up serial killer vibe, the masquerade ball ends up getting pretty weird.

In two shots, Ana can be seen walking around the ball on her own, while being stared at by Jack Hyde, who is himself suited up in disguise as the party requires.

They're really playing-up the darker elements of the movie (it is in the title, after all) and the venture towards thriller territory, so it'll be interesting to see whether this turns audiences off (pun intended) or only heightens intrigue in these absurd characters and scenarios.
