Fifty Shades Of Grey Review: 14 Hilariously Awful Moments

4. The Totally Pointless Plane Scene

Ever since the first trailer for the movie dropped, one scene that stuck out like a sore thumb was where Christian takes Ana for a ride in one of his private light aircrafts. It had a strong whiff of superfluous padding designed to drag the running time out, and that is exactly what it is in the final cut of the movie. All it does is hold viewers at further length from catching a glimpse of some nudity, and had it been cut out completely, the film would've probably run under two hours in length. It's like the filmmakers realised they had a few hundred grand left over from the $40 million budget (unsurprisingly enough) and decided to spunk it on something flashy for the trailer.
