Finding Dory Review: 7 Ups And 3 Downs

2. The Reunion

Dory Sad
Pixar

When Dory and her parents are finally reunited (it's a little conceited, but let's allow it because it's gorgeous), it's one of Pixar's most loaded emotional sequences.

I kid you not, never has a cinema screen got so dusty so quickly since the "daddy, my daddy" bit in The Railway Children. It's literally as powerful as that.

It's contrived that such a happy ending could happen, but the way it's framed and captured, and the way it ends Dory's arc that we see through the flashbacks is perfectly played.
