3. Kiefer Sutherland's Hilarious Cameo

Flatliners Kiefer Sutherland
Columbia Pictures

It's been known for a long time that Kiefer Sutherland, who starred in the original movie as protagonist Nelson Wright, had filmed a cameo, apparently reprising his role.

However, this turned out not to be the case at all: Sutherland does appear in the movie, but in a totally new role as Dr. Barry Wolfson, a senior doctor who teaches the young medical students and appears in three short scenes throughout the film.

With his dyed-white hair, Sutherland is a presence both distracting and hilarious, and while it's impossible to take any of his scenes seriously, he does at least inject a little fun into a movie sorely in need of it.
