Friday The 13th: 10 Funniest Jason Voorhees Kills
2. You're Gonna Be The Death Of Me
Another one of Jason Lives' dark comedy moments, the death of Martin the caretaker combines the metahumour and fourth wall breaks that helps sprinkle a little bit of comedy into proceedings.
Martin is introduced as being the caretaker for the graveyard Jason was buried in at the end of Part IV: The Final Chapter, and is shown to have two major qualities: alcoholism and witty remarks, with one of his first lines being the fourth-wall-breaking 'some folks have a strange idea of entertainment.
He meets his demise a later on that evening, stumbling around the woods swigging an empty bottle of whiskey, claiming that the drink is 'going to be the death' of him. With the bottle dusted off, Martin chucks it aside but, not hearing it land, looks around in confusion. Jason then appears, bottle in hand, and stabs the caretaker with the glass.
In what looks more like Jason's tirade against littering in the wild, the kill has the kind of poetic irony that audiences can only help but laugh at. Throw in a little bit of Jason's power-walking teleportation on top when he hunts down the witnesses to the murder, and Martin's death perfectly encapsulates the exact themes Part VI strives to hit.
