Friday The 13th Series: Jason's 10 Best Kills
8. Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives - Allen Hawes
It's something of a rarity for any movie series to reach its pinnacle on part 6 - but that's what happened with Friday the 13th.
For many fans, Jason Lives is the best film in the series; and that success is all the more surprising given how far it deviates from the standard formula in many respects. It's comparatively low on bloodshed, and sex is almost completely off the table (it's the only Friday with no nudity whatsoever!), and it also introduces a supernatural element which had previously only been implied.
Still, while the gore quota isn't as great as in other entries, Jason Lives does give us one of its most gruesome moments in its opening sequence, which has count among the very best openings of the series, with its classically creepy setting of a graveyard in a storm.
With the events of Part V: A New Beginning quite sensibly ignored, this movie opens with Friday 4 survivor Tommy Jarvis (now played by Thom Matthews) sneaking out of his mental institute with fellow inmate Allen Hawes (Ron Palillo), in order to dig up Jason's corpse and destroy it.
Inevitably, instead, they wind up inadvertently bringing Jason back to life - and once he's up and about, Jason wastes no time getting back to what he does best, killing Allen by punching him straight through the chest, taking his heart out through his back. Oof.
