Friday The 13th Series: Jason's 10 Best Kills

If there's one message that we always seem to get from slasher movies, it's that sex and death go hand in hand. We all know the rules; getting it on is akin to putting the machete straight through your own spine. One of the most memorable instances of this occurs in Friday the 13th Part 2, when a pair of young lovers meet their end together.

It's curiously sweet, in a way. Jeff (Bill Randolph) and Sandra (Marta Kober) are in bed together, clearly in the act, but it's a gentle, tender moment. They're oblivious to the presence of Jason, creeping up the stairs clutching a spear of all things - until he plunges that bad boy straight through them, and all the way out the bottom of the mattress in a spurt of blood. Penetration, fluids - make of it what you will.

Of course, while this has become an iconic Friday the 13th moment, it must be emphasised that it's actually a bald-faced rip-off of an almost identical scene in Italian horror legend Mario Bava's 1971 proto-slasher A Bay of Blood (AKA Twitch of the Death Nerve, AKA Blood Bath - believe it or not, there are even more alternate titles than that).
