Frozen 2 Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

1. It's A Disappointingly Forgettable Sequel

All things considered, Frozen 2 just doesn't really feel like the caliber sequel fans would understandably be expecting after a six-year wait.

It certainly has its moments and is never less than totally watchable, but outside of the show-stopping songs, it just feels like your average, ho-hum Disney sequel created without much inspiration or imagination.

Given the solid foundation laid by the first film, the sequel had enormous potential to do so much more with the concept, and ultimately, most of the creative fan theories that did the rounds ahead of the movie's release are far more interesting than what we ended up with.

It does the job, but is that really enough?

However, if Frozen 2 isn't the for-the-ages sequel most were hoping for, it's certainly an artful animation with some outstanding elements. Here's what it got right...
