A fascinating testament to how ideas can trump big budgets in the right hands, Coherence begs viewers to forgive its sometimes amateur visuals in favour of a strong ensemble cast and terrific premise, as a passing comet causes eight guests at a dinner party to uncover a series of alternate dimensions.

Perversely confusing but never less than thoroughly entertaining, Coherence isn't always easy to keep up with and invites repeat viewings to that end, but its array of disorientating twists and turns make it a compulsively bonkers sit.
