Ghostbusters: 11 Things That Must Happen In The Sequel
7. No More Shoehorned Cameos
Alright, guys, you've had your fun nodding to the original Ghostbusters cast, but can we give it a rest now?
Sadly the cameos from the surviving members of the core 1984 cast were an incredibly mixed bag, with Bill Murray's facepalm-inducing presence feeling like a majorly missed opportunity, while Ernie Hudson's was thankfully a good deal more charming and amusing.
Still, all the cameos in this movie, from the legacy Ghostbusters themselves through to a three-second appearance from Ozzy Osbourne, ended up feeling desperate and forced, thrown in for no sake other than to arbitrarily include them for a cheap laugh.
Nobody saw this movie for the cameos, especially as they classic cast aren't even playing their beloved characters, so hopefully Paul Feig and co. have got it out of their system now, and the next movie can stop wasting time with low-effort nostalgic gags.
