In Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Mary Elizabeth Winstead played a strong, independent, smart mouthed young woman whos only weakness was that she came unglued at the very sight of one particular man (Gideon). Her attitude, unusual sex appeal and affinity with falling for the wrong guys, makes her an excellent choice to play the irritable but likable Janine Melnitz, the woman whos unrequited love for Egon Spengler is her biggest flaw. Also, having a thing for geeky guys like Michael Cera means shed certainly be capable of falling for our final choice, the man who will play Danas neighbour, Louis Tully.
Louis Tully - Christopher Mintz-Plasse
When you think of a modern day Rick Moranis who springs to mind? For us its McLovin himself, Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Hes awkward, has the right kind of build and doesnt look that dissimilar to Moranis. You can imagine him as the Key Master, right? Ravishing Stewarts Gatekeeper before turning into a massive snarling Hellhound. Louis is a surprisingly important role with lots of comedy moments. We all know McLovin can deliver this kid of performance and with Judd Apatow in the directors chair the character would likely receive that extra dimension he was missing in the original films. If you were to take things like salaries out of the equation a Ghostbusters remake could be the greatest movie ensemble piece of all time, even better than The Avengers. But as we all know it takes more than a fantastic cast to make a movie work. Before any of this could ever happen a quality script would need to be written and receive the stamp of approval from its original stars. But for now we wait, the same as we have done for years, for Aykroyd and Ramis to get together and create a sequel worthy of the name Ghostbusters. The jury is out on whether thats ever going to happen, and the clock is definitely ticking.
