10. The Unbreakable Deleted Scenes

Shyamalan clever inserts two deleted scenes from Unbreakable into his film, and far from a lazy attempt to save money by reconstituting 20-year-old footage, it actually blends into the whole surprisingly well.

The first scene is cutting room floor material following Unbreakable's iconic weightlifting sequence, with Joseph telling David that he knows he could've lifted more, but he won't tell anybody. Following on from Dr. Staple's attempt to make Joseph believe his father is a mere mortal, its placement in the film is pretty much perfect.

And later on, a flashback to Elijah's childhood shows him breaking some bones after sneaking onto an amusement park ride.

It all adds solid shade and context to the characterisation, so it's just a shame the logic of Shyamalan's movie didn't quite end up matching the emotional highs he was shooting for.
