Invasion of Astro-Monster is one of the most distinctly sci-fi entries in the series, and had Godzilla go up against King Ghidorah for the second time. Mankind has mastered space travel and has sent two astronauts to investigate the mysterious Planet X. There they encounter a race of alien beings being terrorized by King Ghidorah, who ask the humans to borrow Godzilla and Rodan in an effort to drive it off. This leads to the first and only instance in the series where Godzilla fights in space. It also leads to one of the most memorable and iconic moments in Godzilla history. After successfully driving off King Ghidorah, Godzilla celebrates by doing what has now been affectionately dubbed the "Godzilla dance," jumping and flailing his arms around in childlike glee. In what is a relatively serious and atmospheric Godzilla film, this moment sticks out like a sore thumb, which is why it continues to be known as one of Godzilla's most famous WTF moments. So well known is this moment that even people who haven't seen a Godzilla film are aware of it in some capacity; it is an image that continues to contribute to the idea that Godzilla is just B-movie camp. It's so silly and dumb looking, and like so many WTF moments, it comes out of nowhere. That being said, it hits that sweet spot of being so goofy it becomes charming, helping cement Godzilla's status as one of the world's most iconic monsters.
