Godzilla: 13 Moments That Prove It's The Stupidest Great Film Of 2014
5. Ford Brody: Super Man
Again, you can forgive certain things as staples of the genre, but it's hard to accept the degree of disbelief that is required to accept Ford not being killed about three times over. While everyone else is doomed the minute a MUTO gets anywhere near them, Ford survives the first appearance that kills his father, as well as jumping off a bridge and having a train dropped on him, and then being blown up and having buildings disintegrated around him. That he emerges from each situation with only a few scratches and a limp says everything about the way the character is unfairly elevated, and it's not like he earns the right, unlike a John McClane or Kyle Reese character. Instead Ford's heroism is forced upon us, and it's no surprise that we re simply expected to believe that his EOD training would have covered HALO jumps, which is probably like asking a paperboy to drive a formula one car without any training.
