Godzilla Vs. Kong: 10 Fixes That Would've Improved It

7. Develop The Human Villains More

Godzilla vs Kong
Warner Bros.

The human villains in Godzilla Vs. Kong are Walter Simmons (Demian Bichir), the CEO of Apex Cybernetics, and his daughter Maia Simmons (Eliza Gonzalez).

They have created a Mecha-Godzilla to kill all of the giant monsters around the globe, but this plan ultimately goes wrong and they both get killed - Walter, rather poetically, is taken down by the Mecha-Godzilla when it takes on a life of its own.

These two characters definitely had potential to be interesting antagonists, not to mention a thought-provoking representation of man playing God, but they both fall completely flat since they're not really given anything to do.

Expanding on these characters should've been a priority for the writers, since they could've been so much more and could've given the film a bit more thematic depth.

Still, the Mecha-Godzilla is awesome, so at least the film got one of the villains absolutely right.
