Godzilla Vs. Kong: 10 Fixes That Would've Improved It

6. Cut ALL Of The Goofy Comedy

Godzilla vs Kong
Warner Bros.

This movie embraces a lighter tone than the other Monsterverse films and there's nothing wrong with that. After all, the title suggests something fairly light-hearted and ludicrous.

Unfortunately, the writers absolutely bungled this aspect of the film.

Most of the comedy in Godzilla Vs. Kong is embarrassingly bad and not at all funny, while it's also got two seriously annoying comic-relief characters - Bernie (Bryan Tyree Henry) and Josh (Julian Dennison), who spend the entire film dropping terrible jokes. What an awful waste of two very good actors.

Therefore, it would've been better to throw out all of these comedy moments, since virtually none of them worked and they weren't really necessary anyhow. The delightfully OTT action scenes provided a more light-hearted, fun tone as it was.
