Godzilla Vs. Kong: 10 Fixes That Would've Improved It

5. Rewrite The Dialogue

Godzilla vs Kong
Warner Bros.

Godzilla Vs. Kong is admittedly is a very well-made blockbuster and the story isn't too bad either, since it had plenty of interesting ideas, such as Apex suffering the terrible consequences of playing with nature and the friendship between Kong and Jia (Kaylee Hottle), a deaf child from Skull Island.

Unfortunately, the potential within the story is all too often left unrealized, since much of the dialogue is so dull.

Dialogue is mostly either exposition or badly-done comedy, and there's very little in the way of subtext or character development either. It's safe to say that, in dialogue terms, this movie could've done with quite a few rewrites.

As things stand, it felt like much of this script was hastily cobbled together in a short space of time and that's never a good thing.
