19. Kong Lives In A Biodome
There's a surprising plot twist dropped in the first few minutes of the movie, when Kong strips a tree, sharpens it, and throws it into the sky, whereby it embeds in the roof of the "sky."
As it turns out, Kong is actually now residing within a biodome on Skull Island operated by Monarch, who have isolated him there both to keep him from being detected by Godzilla and also due to the increasing ecological instability of Skull Island itself.
It's a neat surprise from the jump that audiences might not be expecting, even if it isn't long before Kong gets freed from his confinement regardless.
