Godzilla Vs. Kong Trailer: 10 Things To Get Excited About

2. Kong's Growth Spurt

Godzilla vs. Kong
Warner Bros.

Even though Kong: Skull Island gave us the biggest version of the great ape ever seen, he was still almost four times shorter than Godzilla. The Kong we say was around 104 feet tall - hardly a giant compared to the 393-feet king of the monsters. So surely any fight between the two would go the way of the lizard?

The MonsterVerse however gave itself a get out of jJail free card with that one, thanks to a throwaway line in the 2017 film that states Kong is still growing. He was still in his adolescence in the 1970s, when Kong: Skull Island is set. Almost five decades have passed since then and the events of Godzilla vs. Kong, and he has clearly been able to grow a lot in that time.

From the pictures, Kong still looks considerably lighter than Godzilla, but makes up for it with agility and speed that Godzilla can only dream of.

Practically matching Godzilla's height means that this is a Kong bigger, heavier and possibly also older than any we have seen before. All the more reason to relish the ultimate showdown between the two mighty monsters.
