Golden Globes 2018: 7 Ups & 5 Downs

Though the all-male director line-up was unfortunate, it was still great to see Guillermo del Toro scoop a Best Director win for his stunning direction of The Shape of Water.

The Golden Globe win is by far the most high-profile award he's received in his career, and though it remains to be seen if he can repeat this at the Oscars, it was great to see him get a well-deserved moment in the spotlight all the same.

Shamefully, the orchestra tried to play Del Toro off after a moment, but he wasn't having it, insisting that the orchestra quiet down, as this was the culmination of his 25-year journey.

It was a blast to see one of Hollywood's great undisputed artists being honoured up on stage, and if he wasn't already likeable enough, the guy then went for a fast food celebration after his win.
