10. Worst Screenplay - Transformers: Age Of Extinction
Also nominated: Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas, Left Behind, Sex Tape, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles It takes a special kind of writer to transform (pun intended) what should be a very straightforward action adventure story aimed at children into an incoherent mess in which nothing makes sense, but this is without a doubt what screenwriter Ehren Kruger accomplished with Transformers: Age Of Extinction. Kruger has plenty of experience in this regard - having penned all but the first Transformers movie, he's become something of an adept master of the art of writing on-screen drivel. He deserves a special thumbs down for including a scene in which the protagonists joke about underage sex, while at the same time essentially condoning it. Perhaps this was a response to the constant criticisms of Michael Bay's proclivity for inappropriately filming scantily clad, barely legal women in leering close-ups.
