Greatest Movie Scene #41 - REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE
This is a fun scene, and one of those where your cringing but you can't take your eyes of this fight.
Rebel Without a Cause. I love that I can sit down and be taken straight into 1950's adolescent culture and the rebelliousness (is that a word?) of youth. It's that period of time in every male's life when you believe your a man but in actually fact your still just a big boy. There's also a residual sadness that star James Dean (who is terrific is this movie) never lived to see the day it was released. One of the most beautiful early widescreen movies ever... this scene must have wowed audiences to what the depth of cinema could do. Just look at that beautiful landscape. Not only that but I think this is a fun scene, and one of those where your cringing but you can't take your eyes of this fight.
