At first, Michael C. Hall may seem like a strange choice to play an iconic superhero, but logically, he's actually the strongest bet. His award-winning turn as the serial killer-killer, Dexter Morgan, on the hit Showtime program gives him instant name recognition and a built in fan base. Hall would be best suited to play Hal Jordan if the franchise decided to follow the Emerald Twilight storyline from the comics. In that narrative, the yellow light of fear slowly overtakes Hal Jordan and turns him into the villainous Parallax who destroys the Green Lantern Corps and anyone else in his way. Hall did an excellent job playing a character that had an internal darkness that he was trying to hide in his most iconic role. Following on from that, as Hal Jordan he could easily show hints of the coming madness that will eventually consume him. As a bonus, his tragic turn as the Green Lantern could open the door to introducing John Stewart or Kyle Rayner as his replacement in the Corps, creating wider scope for the franchise.
